TrialScope, EMD Serono, CISCRP Finalists in 2 Categories
Jersey City, NJ – March 20, 2020 – TrialScope is pleased to announce that EMD Serono’s Clinical Trial Transparency website, powered by the TrialScope Engage™ platform, has been named a finalist for the 5th Annual Citeline Awards (previously known as the CARE Awards). EMD Serono is the healthcare business of Merck KGaA, Darmstadt, Germany in the U.S. and Canada. The Center for Information & Study on Clinical Research Participation (CISCRP), which assisted EMD Serono with the development of content for the website, also was named in the announcement by Informa Pharma Intelligence.
This award recognizes the promising and disruptive role that digital health technology plays in clinical trials. TrialScope, EMD Serono and CISCRP were named finalists in the Best Patient-facing Technology Initiative category and Medidata Clinical Partnership of the Year category.
“Once again, we had a highly competitive pool of entries for the annual Citeline Awards. Nominations were received from a variety of organizations, ranging from large and small CROs, to young biotechs and well-established pharmas, to specialized vendors who provide indispensable services to the clinical research industry.” said Karen Currie, executive director, Citeline editorial.
“We were proud to partner with both EMD Serono on this website that broadens patient understanding of and access to the sponsor’s clinical trials,” said TrialScope CEO Jeff Kozloff. “The website reflects a continued commitment to transparency that is shared by EMD Serono and TrialScope alike.”
“Developing a platform that educates and raises the awareness of EMD Serono clinical trials was a genuine collaboration with patients and healthcare providers. The website empowers patients by providing them with information to have a dialogue with their family, friends and healthcare team about clinical trials and what options are available to them. I am honored to see this is being recognized by Citeline,” said Melaina Boyce, Director of Clinical Innovation.
“The project to design and launch an easy-to-read and understand website for patients, the general public, patient advocacy organizations and healthcare professionals about clinical research and easy-to-access information was truly a collaborative team effort with EMD Serono, TrialScope and CISCRP,” said Jill McNair, senior director, health communication services, CISCRP. “It is an honor to be nominated as a finalist in the Pharma Intelligence Citeline 2020 Awards in the ‘Best Patient-Facing Technology Initiative.’”
The TrialScope Engage platform automatically updates the EMD Serono clinical trials website, syncing approved clinical trial data from TrialScope Disclose™, the global disclosure system used by Merck KGaA, Darmstadt, Germany. Additional information about TrialScope Engage is available online.
The award winners will be announced at an awards ceremony April 30 in Boston.
